Toll booth at Interchange 32 (Alfred Street)

The Maine Turnpike Alfred Street Interchange, commonly referred to by its numerical identification Interchange 32 is a tolled interchange of the Maine Turnpike (Interstate 95) and Alfred Street (Biddeford Connector) in Biddeford, Maine.

The interchange is toll-free leaving the Maine Turnpike from both directions, but requires a $1.00 cash or EZ-PASS toll upon entering the turnpike, regardless of the direction traveled. This is because upon entering the turnpike southbound, drivers will still encounter the Sanford Road Interchange, which is toll-free upon exiting, before encountering the mainline York Toll Plaza further south. Traffic entering from Alfred Street heading north will not encounter a mainline toll plaza until the New Gloucester Toll Plaza, unless exiting to the Scarborough Connector or the Falmouth Spur. As such, the Alfred Street Interchange is tolled entering either direction, but not exiting.

Like many of the Maine Turnpike’s tolled interchanges, the Alfred Street Interchange charges a $1.00 toll for all 2-axle automotive vehicles (cars). The highest possible toll rate is $6.50 for large trucks with 18+ wheels. EZ-PASS users do not receive a discounted toll at most interchanges, including Alfred Street, the way they do at mainline toll plazas.
